Assisted living facilities provide varying levels of care for your loved ones. A range of different services are available to care for the different needs of the residents. Care is holistic and we cater to a residents emotional, physical and psychological needs. These needs include activities of daily living, administration and distribution of medication, daily meal preparation and snacks, social and recreational activities, exercise and wellness programs, housekeeping, laundry, supervised care, call light systems. Residents are encouraged to be as independent as they wish, and receive assistance as needed. There are different levels of assisted living. Where your loved one would fit in depends on how much assistance they require on a daily basis.
Laurel Groves Assisted Living in Nephi, offers Level 1 and Level 2 assisted living care, as well as Memory care services.
Level 1 Assisted Living CareWe provide Level 1 care for our Laurel Groves residents that require a low level of assistance only needing occasional help with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Two key qualifiers of residents in Level 1 Care are their mobility--they are able to move around on their own without the help from another person, and their self care--ability to manage and perform their own personal hygiene regimen. These residents may, however, need assistance with ADLs such as taking their meds, doing housekeeping and laundry, and getting in and out of the bathtub. Our Laurel Groves caregivers typically help perform the non-medical duties under supervision of our nurses.
Level 2 Assisted Living CareLevel 2 residents need a little more care. They may need one on one assistance from caregivers for all or most of their activities and cares such as dressing toileting and transferring. They may have a higher need with decision making and may rely on staff and family to take care of personal matters such as appointments, finances and decisions. Our Laurel Groves CNA’s are available to assist residents 24 hours a day.
Memory CareMemory care is a safe environment for residents that have dementia or memory loss and may not be safe in a less supervised environment. Staff in our memory care are trained to work with people with cognitive impairments. Our Laurel Groves memory care program is based on respect for each resident as a person who is important. Our memory care residents enjoy a positive and purposeful experience at Laurel Groves Assisted Living as we are able to reduce agitation and inspire conversation. As we understand residents past history—their loves, likes, occupations, family members, etc—we can troubleshoot why a resident may be upset and help redirect behaviors to promote positive social interactions.
Optional ActivitiesOur residents enjoy participating in our wide variety of group classes and activities. A major benefit of assisted living is the social aspect and the many activities that are available. These include musical and other performances, games, interactive activities, gardening, BINGO and bus rides into the community.
